Current status. Say Less is in pre-release testing and is not open to the public. It currently interacts only with Instagram accounts controlled by its developer.
These terms apply when you interact with Say Less ("the service") — by @mentioning it in a public Instagram comment, by replying to one of its comments, or by answering a question it asks you. If you do not agree with these terms, do not interact with the service.
Say Less is an automated bot. When @mentioned in a public Instagram comment, it may reply publicly in the same thread. It reads the public comment that mentions it and the public context around that comment, and nothing else. It does not send direct messages.
Replies are produced by automated language models. They are not written, reviewed, or endorsed by the operator before publication, and they do not represent the operator's views. Some commands are deliberately irreverent in tone.
Automated output can be wrong, inappropriate, or nonsensical. Do not rely on anything the service says as factual, professional, or advisory. Treat it as entertainment.
The service operates in public Instagram comment threads. Anything you write to it, and anything it writes back, is visible to anyone who can see that post. Do not share anything private with it.
Some commands are directed at a person other than the one giving the instruction. Where that is the case:
Attempting to work around this — for example by repeatedly re-asking, or by invoking the service from another account after a refusal — is a breach of these terms.
You may not use the service to:
Say Less checks generated content against safety rules and will refuse requests that fail them. It may decline, stay silent, or reply with a generic message, for any reason or none. Silence is not an error, and no request is guaranteed a reply.
We may stop responding to any account at any time, without notice, if it breaches these terms or if we judge continued interaction to be harmful. We may also suspend or discontinue the service entirely at any time.
You keep whatever rights you have in what you write. By @mentioning the service, you permit it to read your public comment and its public context, and to reply publicly referring to it, for the purpose of operating the service.
Say Less is an independent application. It is not created, sponsored, endorsed, or administered by Instagram or Meta Platforms, Inc. Your use of Instagram is governed by Instagram's own terms.
You must be at least 13 to use Instagram, and at least 13 to interact with this service. The service must not be directed at anyone under 18.
The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that it will be available, uninterrupted, accurate, or free of error.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or reputation, arising out of your use of or inability to use the service — including damages arising from automatically generated content.

If these terms change materially, the effective date above will change. Continuing to interact with the service after a change means you accept the revised terms. The current version is always at this address.
